The most successful coach of recent times Fabio Tamborrini, has announced his resignation as National Team Women's Head Coach.
Fabio, who is relocating to Costa Rica, for work purposes leaves a legacy of victory in Irish Volleyball. His accolades include the historic Quadruple Double of League and Cup wins with Garda, Galway, DVC and UCD Volleyball Clubs.
Commenting on his resignation, Fabio said, "Winning a historic quadruple League and Cup in a row, was a very proud moment for me and something which I will always treasure. Working with the National Team has been a great honour and the time we’ve spent in the Faroe Islands and recently Luxembourg has been a highlight of my coaching career. Ireland has a bright Volleyball future and I wish you all the best as you continue your development."
Volleyball Ireland would like to put on record their appreciation of Fabio's work, commitment and culture of excellence he has created both within Irish Clubs and the National Team setup. The Board would like to wish Fabio all the best for his future endeavours and hope one day, to see Fabio playing a key role in Irish Volleyball again.
Six Directors of Volleyball Ireland were elected at the recent company AGM held at the Killeshin Hotel, Portloaise on Saturday June 29th.
Grainne Culliton was elected as President for a final term, along with Vice President Denise Tallon, Honorary Secretary Regina Halpin, Ordinary Board Members Aidan Curran and Jeff King, along with Independent Director Martina Ward-Clancy.
