Ballymun Patriots Volleyball Club are taking part in the Volleyball Ireland & CEV Schools Project.
The club have been working with Trinity Comprehensive School and St Mary’s of Glasnevin to establish a school – club link. Patriots Secretary and qualified coach Grainne Culliton joined Volleyball Ireland development officer Norma McIntyre to kick start the programme.
The project will see teachers and coaches complete an education programme before delivering sessions to pupils in both the school and club setting. The aim is to transfer participants into regular club training.
Grainne added, “It was great to get out into the schools and promote the club. There is plenty of natural skills and hopefully by having a formal link we can filter some new players into the club as we look to establish our youth section.”
