Waterford SpikeBall Summer Camp

Last week saw Waterford’s first ever SpikeBall Summer Camp take place in the Presentation Secondary School in the city. SpikeBall, an adapted Volleyball game, provides a FUN introduction to Volleyball and has been growing in popularity year on year. The Volleyball Association of Ireland have been working very closely with Waterford Sports Partnership over the past few years in developing the sport in the county and providing more opportunities for people of all ages to play Volleyball. This SpikeBall Summer Camp programme was run by the Volleyball Association in conjunction with Waterford Sports Partnership and the Irish Sports Council ‘Women in Sport’ initiative.
The SpikeBall Camp was open to girls between the ages of 10 and 15 years of age with no previous Volleyball experience required. 15 girls signed up for the camp and arrived on the first day enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills and make new friends. Most of the girls had never played SpikeBall or Volleyball before so a whole new experience awaited them.
