How To Register? To register for TY Volley registration image on the right hand side. What is TY Volley? TY Volley is a Brand New Exciting Transition Year Volleyball programme for girls and boys. Students are trained up as volleyball coaches. They deliver a 6-week introduction to mini volleyball programme to 1st or 2nd year students in their school. The TY leaders will run a blitz in their school for all the students that they have coached. The TY leaders can then enter teams into the TY Volley national blitz which will run between April and May 2019 (depending on the number of team entries). Who is it for? Any school in Ireland with TY boys and girls who would be interested in becoming volleyball coaches. How does it work?
Students will be given pre-course reading material all about the course and volleyball skills and rules.
Students must sit and pass an online exam before the course delivery day.
A Volleyball Ireland tutor will deliver a full day TY Leadership course to TY students on how to introduce mini volleyball to 1st and 2nd students in their school.
The programme will include information on coaching, refereeing, administration and public relations.
The students will receive a Volleyball Ireland Leaders Award Certificate.
Students will help to organise and run a mini volleyball blitz in their school.
Students will then enter teams into the National TY Volley competition.
Volleyball Ireland will monitor and evaluate the programme.

Volleyball Ireland Leader Certificate.
Each school will receive 3 Balls and 2 free team entry into the National TY Volley Blitz.
Students will receive logbooks and all necessary coaching materials.
How much does it cost and what are the conditions? The cost is €25 per participant. Schools must have a minimum of 12 participants willing to take part in the programme. The cost includes pre-course reading material, logbooks, 1 full day course 3 balls and 2 free team entries into the TY Volley National blitz.
Schools must make available the same 1st/2nd year class for the duration of the course.
All courses must be completed by Friday the 12th of April. NOTE: Courses are maximum six weeks long.
To achieve certification TY’s MUST fulfil the following criteria
Students must have passed the Pre-course Exam.
Students must attend all sessions.
Students must have the Logbook & Worksheets completed and have written session plans prepared for all coaching sessions.
Be actively involved in Blitz organisation.
Students MUST KNOW THE RULES of the game and APPLY them.
The Students must ensure volleyballs are ACCOUNTED for and any surplus Spikeballs are returned to the TY Team on completion of the Blitz.
Students COMPLETE and RETURN Review & Evaluation Form in order to receive their certificate.
