Benefits for children taking part in sport

The benefits to children that take part in sport at a young age are varied and very important to a child’s development, listed below are some of these benefits:

1. Improved Health Rates

It has been shown that if children are active from a young age that in later life they are more likely to be active and healthy.

 

2. Improved co-ordination

It is believed that all of a child’s sporting skills are learned through physical exercise from the ages of 8 to 12.

 

3. Social Integration

Play can help to develop a child’s social skills, some of these skills are:

  • Learning to work together.
  • Learning to control your temper if you do not get your way.
  • Being able to treat everyone the same
