Structure of Programme Volleyball Ireland will deliver the SpikeBall Leaders’ Award course to the selected Female Transition Year Students. The programme will result in a Volleyball Ireland/Sport Ireland approved certificate being awarded to candidates who successfully complete the requirements of the programme. Training will be provided on coaching, refereeing skills, administration and how to create and benefit from a local PR campaign. The trained TY Students will then introduce and coach SpikeBall to local Primary schools, over a 6 week period, to students between the ages of 8-12. They may also work with 1st and 2nd Year pupils in their own schools and/or local community groups. The Transition Year students will help organise and run SpikeBall Blitzes (to include local media/guest of honour) at the end of the programme for the groups they have been coaching. There is also a “Certificate of Excellence” for those Transition Year Students who show outstanding leadership throughout the course.
