Volleyball Ireland (VI) Clubmark Programmme is a club development tool to support volleyball clubs in reaching their full potential and to become more sustainable. The programme will guide existing clubs in restructuring and implementing best practice within the club and for the sport as a whole! The programme can also be beneficial for those setting up new clubs. Setting up a club can be tricky and overwhelming at times not knowing where to start! Clubmark serves as a navigation tool and helps volunteers manage and get on top of setting a club up!
There are 3 sections in the programme;
- Effective Management >>> Constitution, Code of Conduct, Insurance
- Safety in Sports >>> Safeguarding/Garda Vetting, Venue Risk Assessment, First Aid
- Quality Assurance and Development >>> Coach & Referee Education, Youth Sections, Club Development Plan
The VI provides a range of templates and resources as well as the support from a VI Development Officer.
Why Do It? In addition to the above reasons, clubs who achieve Clubmark Accreditation may be more appealing and successful when applying for funding. As well as receiving a plaque celebrating the acheivement clubs who are accredited before the end of 2021 will receive an Equipment Grant worth €500.
What Santry VC, the first club to achieve the Bronze accreditation had to say…
“Our experience with the Clubmark Programme is certainly more than positive! Perfect guidelines that are easy to follow and a lot of material available that helped us to go through the process swiftly and with a minimum effort required. It allowed us to identify gaps and have effective plans in place for further Santry VC club development. A special thank you to Norma for her super guidance and all the hand holding that helped us to achieve results to date. We hope that individuals and Santry VC as a club will grow more in coming years!”
