This is a pivotal and exciting role that will help shape one of Ireland\u2019s most diverse sports.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong><u>Volleyball Ireland<\/u><\/strong><br \/>Volleyball Ireland was established in 1968, and this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. Currently employing 5 full time staff, Volleyball Ireland has ambitious plans for it\u2019s future development in line with it\u2019s new 4 year strategy \u2013 <em>Raising the Game.<\/em> Some other facts;<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>951 teams participate in our National Schools Programme<\/li>\n<li>40 adult teams compete in the VI National League<\/li>\n<li>The Beach Volleyball Ireland Tour is growing year on year<\/li>\n<li>Over 61 nationalities make up our adult playing pool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/><strong><u>The Role<\/u><\/strong><br \/>The Treasurer will actively participate on the board, working in close partnership with the President, General Manager and other Board members of Volleyball Ireland to safeguard the organisation&#8217;s finances. You will be responsible for ensuring that effective financial systems and procedures have been established, are being consistently followed and are in line with best practice &amp; legal requirements.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>All board members receive a comprehensive induction pack.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong><u>Main Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee and present budgets, accounts and financial statements to the management committee on a monthly basis<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the General Manager and Board about financial matters<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that appropriate financial systems and controls are in place<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that record-keeping &amp; accounts meet the conditions of funders or statutory bodies<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee preparation of accounts<\/li>\n<li>Present accounts at the AGM<\/li>\n<li>Ensure best practice is followed in all aspects of financial management of the company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Time Commitment<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 meeting per month, typically 2hrs in Dublin.
