Ireland’s u18 Women’s team finished 5th in the round robin Small Countries Association Championships in Malta last weekend.
An close 5-set defeat to neighbours Northern Ireland earnt Ireland’s only point from the 5-team tournament, with the team growing in confidence and stature as the tournament went on.
In fact, Matt Hanlon’s team were the only side, apart from winner Luxembourg, to take a set off Silver medallists San Marino. The team’s best performances came against the better teams.
