Regional Development Centres

The Indoor Regional Development Centres provide first class training and international opportunities for junior players in Ireland.

Volleyball Ireland aim to support the progression and passion of our more advanced junior players by providing monthly trainings under the guidance of high level coaches at each centre. Players will be able to avail of external supports provided to the centres such as strength & conditioning coaches or sports related technology to enhance self-development and techniques.

This environment will cater for players born in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and will set them on the first stage of the performance pathway towards national team selection, as well as improving their all round sporting skills. This will have benefits for the individual, their local club and school teams.

Our mission is to assist the region’s higher level players in achieving their individual ambitions while developing players capable of competing on the international stage and within the Volleyball Ireland National League system.

Players eligibility and selection

The Centres will operate on an east and west basis for 2022-23. 49 players were selected on a first round of selection for Girls West and East centres and Boys East Centre. Boys West Centre selection will be run on October 30th.

Players born in 2007, 2008 and 2009 are eligible to participate in the selections.

Clubs will be invited to recommend players to attend the trial.

Players previously selected at centres will still need to attend a trial day each year to be selected once again.

Upon achieving selection, parents will need to provide consent forms with payment prior to the first session taking place.

Registrations for 2022/23 are now closed

The participation in the trials is free of charge, but registration is MANDATORY.

Those that have registered will receive all details regarding time and venue closer to the date.

Deadline to register is October 27th.

Calendar

Additional events, such as international competition and a high performance multiday camp, may be added to the calendar. All information will be shared with parents as soon as dates are confirmed.
