Another year, another SIX incoming CHAMPIONS.
After a staggering 305 matches in just over 2 months, this Monday, December 9th, twelve teams from ten different counties will go face to face to determine the 2024 Senior Schools’ Champions.
Check out below who is contending and dreaming of bringing home titles on the day.
All matches will be streamed LIVE through our YouTube channels. Links are below and times are approximate.
Senior Girls A – Coláiste Muire, Ennis VS Rockford Manor School, DublinÂ
(Approx 12.30pm)
We have two different schools from last year’s A final line up. This once again demonstrates the amount of quality on display in Girls A Division from year to year. All school volleyball enthusiasts will remember the 2019-2020 Senior A final clash between these two at the UCD Sports Centre.  Back then it was Coláiste that came from two down to take home the title. 16-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19,
15-13. However, it is also the last time the school from Ennis won at this level. There would be no surprise if we went to five again, but one thing for sure is that we are in for some entertaining volleyball!

Senior Boys A – Douglas CS, Cork VS Dungarvan College, WaterfordÂ
(Approx. 12.30)
Douglas after sweeping the B Division last season have gone from strength to strength defeating the defending champions Patrician HS in their semi final clash. Dungarvan also got the better of Sutton Park this time round as they overcame their semi 25-23, 25-23, 25-22! For both teams it’s history making time as neither has been on the big stage at this level before.

Â
Senior Girls B – Nord Anglia IS, Dublin VS St Louis SS, MonaghanÂ
(Approx 10.30am)
Nord Anglia return to the finals however for the first at the Senior Level. The school since joining VLY. leagues has been a constant fixture at the latter stages and someone the other schools would hope to avoid. Last year’s U16 final defeat will live long in the memory, and they will be looking to change that come Monday. St Louis SS are yet another first-time entry for VLY and what a season they are having! The team is littered with Crows’ players and there is no better way to introduce our game to a school, than to make a Senior Final in Year 1.

Senior Boys B- St Louis CS, Mayo VS Coláiste Muire Máthair, GalwayÂ
(Approx 2.30pm)
It’s the battle of the West as these two teams will compete for the 2024 Division B title. Both schools will be familiar with the talent of their opponents. This season the schools have been working their way through the country playing some scintillating volleyball- St Louis defeated Westmeath, Cavan, Kildare and Cork schools. While the Galway team have dispatched Leitrim, Mayo, Kilkenny, Dublin and Cork opponents. This is going to be EPIC!

Senior Girls C – Presentation College, Athenry VS Drumshanbo VS, Leitrim Â
(Approx 10.30am)
It’s quite hard to fathom that neither of these volleyball schools have been to a girls final day in 20 years! Back in 2004-05 the Pres. came up just short that season but this year they have been putting on some commanding performances and have rightfully earned their spot back on the last day. Drumshanbo are no strangers to a final but for the first ever it’s the girls that have been keeping the hopes alive. This win would be special and certainly welcomed back in Leitrim.

Senior Boys C – Coláiste Na Hinse, Meath VS Summerhill College, SligoÂ
(Approx 2.30pm)
Another year and another final for Coláiste Na Hinse. This time the school take on newcomers from Sligo, Summerhill College. There will a lot of learnings from last season for the Meath school as they look to bring the title back home in 2024. Summerhill arrived on the school scene via beach volleyball last year. Their first indoor season has been extremely impressive and have remained unbeaten to date including a tight win against Na Hinse in the earlier stages.
