CEO Vacancy

Volleyball Ireland, the National Governing Body for Volleyball across the twenty-six counties of Ireland, affiliated to the Olympic Federation of Ireland, as well as the European and World Volleyball Federations, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation into its next exciting chapter.

With a bold vision to become the fastest growing National Federation in Europe and a recognised leader in inclusion, Volleyball Ireland is on a dynamic growth trajectory. From hosting the U20 Women’s European Championship in 2024 to launching a state-of-the-art Beach Volleyball Centre at the Sport Ireland Campus, the momentum is real—and they’re just getting started.

The Opportunity

This is a unique chance to lead a culturally diverse, innovative, and high-performing organisation with a strong reputation among stakeholders, funders, and the wider volleyball community. As CEO, you will:

  • Deliver the current strategic plan, Feel the Buzz, and shape the next chapter from 2027 onward.
  • Champion the sport nationally and internationally.
  • Drive commercial growth, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead a passionate team of staff and volunteers, supported by a professional and ambitious Board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Deliver and evolve Volleyball Ireland’s strategic vision.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with Sport Ireland, international federations, clubs, and commercial partners.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee governance, financial management, safeguarding, and performance systems.
  • Commercial Growth: Develop innovative revenue streams, sponsorships, and marketing strategies.
  • Cultural Stewardship: Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture across the organisation.

The Candidate

You are an energetic, ambitious leader with a growth mindset and a passion for sport. You bring:

  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven track record in stakeholder management, team leadership, and commercial development.
  • Experience in digital transformation, governance, and financial oversight.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainable development.
