Ireland’s U19 Men’s Beach Team Finish Joint 5th at 2026 SCA Beach Championships

Volleyball Ireland’s U19 Men’s Beach National Team represented Ireland with pride at the 2026 Small Countries Association (SCA) Beach Volleyball Championships in Andorra, producing a number of impressive performances throughout the tournament to finish joint 5th overall.

Ireland began the tournament against Liechtenstein in a tightly contested opening match. After taking the first set, the boys battled hard but were narrowly edged out in a deciding third set.

Despite the defeat, the performance showed plenty of promise heading into the remainder of the group stage.

The team bounced back brilliantly in their second match, delivering a composed performance to defeat the Faroe Islands in straight sets.

Confidence continued to build as Ireland followed that victory with another impressive straight-sets win over tournament hosts Andorra.

The back-to-back victories secured Ireland’s place in the knockout stages.

Ireland’s final pool match came against Gibraltar, where the boys pushed hard throughout, particularly in a closely fought second set.

The result saw Ireland progress to the Quarter-Finals, where they would face another Gibraltar pairing.

Ireland’s tournament came to an end in the Quarter-Finals despite another determined display.

The defeat meant Ireland finished the championships in joint 5th place.
