Breaking News: The Confederation of European Volleyball (CEV) have announced the draw for stage 1 of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup.
Visiting Ireland in June will be Estonia, Denmark and Slovakia in the Women’s section. Whilst in the Men’s draw Bettystown Beach will be hosting Lithuania, Scotland and Ukraine.
Commenting on the draw, President of Volleyball Ireland Beach Commission Miriam Gormally said, “It’s a great draw with some really exciting teams visiting Ireland. We look forward to welcoming the players and their supporters in June.”
The competition format remains the same as in the previous editions as each country will be represented by two teams per gender and the match results will be counted ‘country vs. country’ instead of ‘team vs. team’. All pools of four will follow the double-elimination competition formula, while the pools consisting of three teams will play each other.
After this first stage of the competition, the second round will follow in May 2020 with the Finals scheduled for 22-28 June, 2020 in the Netherlands.
