Volleyball Ireland will be hosting an exciting bonanza of Beach Volleyball action over the weekend of August 28 & 29th.
The Bettystown Blast will feature a range of activities for all abilities of Beach Volleyball player, including Volleyball Ireland’s new 3* Elite Tour event (Sun) and a fun, social 4v4 Mixed Team tournament (Sat). There will be free turn up and play nets available all weekend for families and friends to try out Beach Volleyball.
The Sunday programme also includes a Jnr Tour Event featuring the best young talent from across the Island of Ireland – this initiative is delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Volleyball Association.

-Round Robin and into a Cup & Plate style knockout format

About the 3* Elite Tour Event: Sun 29 Aug
Entries are open for Volleyball Ireland’s VLY BEACH TOUR 3* event to be held on Sunday August 29th at Bettystown Beach, Co Meath.
3* events are the highest stage in Ireland’s National Beach Tour with the top 6 teams from the current VLY Beach Tour securing automatic entry, plus an additional two wildcards making the cut for the Men’s and Women’s competitions. Teams from the entry list that do not qualify for a top 6 slot, may be offered wildcard places. The event will feature qualified referees and score keepers for all matches, with the Women’s Centre Court matches live streamed by our Media partners Pundit Arena – who were successful in attaining Women in Sport funding from the Federation of Irish Sport to help raise the profile of female athletes and competitions across Ireland.
The Entry list closes at mid night Sunday August 22nd – confirmed entry list published on Monday August 23rd.

About the Jnr Intl Challenge Tournament: Sun 29 Aug
This joint project between Volleyball Ireland and NIVA aims to help build a pathway in the sport for young players. The best players from both Federations aged u21 will compete in a 2v2 tournament.
