Gardians and Aer Lingus both clinched Grand Final places at an action packed Day 1 of the 2022/23 National League season Grand Finals weekend.
The opening game was a thriller which went all the way, with UCD running the defending champions close, eventually winning 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9.

Game 2 didn’t disappoint either with Aer Lingus and Trinity College putting on a show. SETU Carlow secured their Division one status against a spirited, energetic and exuberant Carrick Crows. The Monaghan club pushed the experienced midlanders all the way 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 15-9.
Another marathon rounded off the day with Tallaght Rockets and Santry going toe-to-toe before the Firhouse natives built 3rd set momentum to win out 3-1.
