Doireann joined UCD VC when she was in 1st year. Since then, she has been at the forefront all activities within the club, both on and off court. She is currently a coach, referee, childrens officer, and has also in the past been the Chairperson and Secretary of the club at various times. In UCD we have new members to the team all the time, Doireann always makes them feel welcome and helps them to integrate to increase retention for UCD. Doireann is the one who is there to offer advice from her vast experience when needed for the club organisation. However, it is her un-assuming determination and natural leadership that makes Doireann such a positive influence on everyone at UCD VC.
As a developing player, training 4 nights per week, 2 with her own team and 2 with the premier team to become a better player. At the forefront of the organisation of many UCD Blitz competitions. Always encourages others to get involved. Even injured, still shows up to training and matches. Never gives up on anything.
