Ireland will make history this Summer, with our first ever entry in the age-group European Beach Volleyball Championships.
Irish teams will take to the sand in Romania, Latvia and Spain for the u22, u20 & u18 European Championships, for both Men & Women.
Volleyball Ireland Player Pathways Manager Matt Hanlon said, “Competing in the European Beach Volleyball Championships is a big step forward for the sport in Ireland. Playing some of the best teams in Europe will really enhance our programme.
It’s vital we experience high-level Beach Volleyball, to help build the pathway and inspire our young athletes. I’m really excited to see how Team Ireland performs in Timisoara, Riga & Madrid this Summer.”
u18 teams will also head to Cardiff for the annual Inter-Beach challenge with Scotland, Northern Ireland, England & Gibraltar.
Competing at International level is part of a Beach Volleyball pathway development programme that has seen the introduction of regional Beach Development centres, Beach Refereeing Courses and Beach Coaching courses, as well as the expansion of the VLY Youth Beach Tour.
