Volleyball Ireland’s U19 Women’s Beach National Team produced an outstanding display at the 2026 Small Countries Association (SCA) Beach Volleyball Championships in Andorra, finishing 4th overall after an impressive run to the Semi-Finals.
Ireland’s campaign began against a strong Iceland side. Although the result didn’t go Ireland’s way, the girls showed great character after a difficult opening set and competed strongly throughout the remainder of the match.

The girls bounced back in style later that day with a superb victory over tournament hosts Andorra. After losing the opening set, Ireland showed incredible composure and determination to fight back and claim a memorable three-set victory.

Confidence continued to grow as Ireland followed up with another excellent performance against Malta, securing a straight-sets victory to progress to the knockout stages.

Ireland faced Andorra once again in the Quarter-Finals and produced another composed display to book their place in the Semi-Finals.

The victory guaranteed Ireland a place among the tournament’s final four.
Ireland’s Semi-Final saw them face Iceland for a second time. The girls battled for every point and pushed Iceland far harder than in the opening match, particularly in a closely contested first set.

Although disappointed with the result, Ireland’s performance reflected just how much the team had developed over the course of the tournament.
Ireland’s final match came against Scotland with a bronze medal on the line. The girls took the opening set and came agonisingly close to securing a podium finish before Scotland edged a dramatic three-set encounter.
