This July 16th on Bettystown Beach, Ireland’s junior players take to the sand once more against our friends from Northern Ireland. The junior beach challenge competition is now in its second year but already becoming a highlight event on our calendar each summer.
The Ireland teams are selected to take part by the head coaches from both east and west regional development centres. This year we can see some familiar faces returning but also some new emerging beach talents seeking their first taste of competition representing their country.
The 2021 final competition proved a huge success for the Irish teams as they took gold in both categories.

McGlynn/Gilmartin, Moloney/Connolly
Moloney/Connolly will look to continue their unbeaten streak as they take to the beach once again as a pair for 2022. Gilmartin has now paired up with club and international indoor teammate Cillian O’Riordáin. Exciting things are expected from the new pair as they look to develop the partnership by dominating from the outset.
In total Ireland have four male teams and five female teams competing this summer at the event. Below is the list of all teams. On display will be a lot of recognisable international capped names looking to secure medals as well as new players eager to create a lasting impact in their first tournament.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come along to support the teams. Fixtures and match times can be found on Tournify
