The teams were selected to travel by a panel of head coaches from the junior beach development centres. Luciana Sombra- Head of Ireland’s junior beach programme spoke to us after final selection had occurred, ” I’m delighted for the players that will have the chance to represent their country abroad. All players in the centres have been working extremely hard this summer and in only the second year of the programme I feel we have made huge improvements. I’m excited to see how the teams perform. Competing at the Junior Commonwealth Cup is an excellent opportunity for us to measure ourselves against other nations.”

Ireland has gained entry to the 2022 Junior Commonwealth Cup formerly the Home Nations through a wildcard selection process. Games will take place August 13th and 14th in Victoria Park, Cardiff.
