Lochlann Walsh co-opted to Board of Administration

Volleyball Ireland are delighted to announce that Lochlann Walsh has been co-opted by the Directors to join the Board of Administration.

Lochlann is an experienced sports administrator, having served as President of Triathlon Ireland for 8 years, as well as currently sitting on the Board of the Olympic Federation of Ireland. Lochlann was recommended for co-option for Volleyball Ireland’s Independent Nominations Committee.

Lochlann said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Volleyball Ireland and looking forward to helping drive forward the strategic growth of the sport. I’ve followed Volleyball Ireland for a while and have been impressed with the work they’ve done over recent years and the direction their looking to go. Hopefully I can bring some of my experience with Triathlon Ireland and the OFI to help continue that growth.”

President Clodagh NicCanna added, “Bringing someone of Lochlann’s experience and skillset into the sport is brilliant. The Board is really strong with a great balance of independent views, business acumen, a variety of skills and of course Volleyball expertise. We have referees, coaches, active players, a national team player and club administrators representing all facets of the sport.”

The appointment of Lochlann brings the gender balance on the board to 56% Female v 44% Male.
