National League & Licence Update

National League

Due to ongoing Covid restrictions, the current 2020/21 Volleyball Ireland National League season has been declared null and void. Whilst this comes as no surprise, it is nonetheless disappointing news.

We are currently awaiting a Road Map for the re-introduction of sporting activity from Sport Ireland and Government. This is expected in the week of April 5th, and at that stage a competition plan for the Summer months will be prepared.

Related to cancellation of the National League, the Board are happy to announce an extension of player, coach & referee licenses.

Player Licences

All player licences for the 2020/21 season will be extended to 31st August 2022. Players that are not returning for the 2021/22 season can apply for a refund of their current player license fee. Refund forms can be requested from Mark Leonard-Doyle via info@volleyballireland.com and must be submitted before April 30, 2021.

Referee & Coach Licences
Referee & Coach licences purchased for 2020 will be extended to 31st August 2022. This will align all licences (player, referee & coach) to run on a seasonal basis from September-August rather than on a calendar year basis.

Volleyball Ireland would like to thank all member clubs, players, coaches & officials for their patience throughout the season, and we look forward to seeing you back in court soon.
