National League set for November return

Volleyball Ireland’s National League Management Committee has confirmed the 2021/22 National League will start on Saturday November 13th.

The 2021/22 season will prioritise league fixtures with the Association Cup and Championship competitions to be added towards the end of the season – and is dependant on further covid related restrictions over the winter months. The later than usual start to the season will help clubs re-start volleyball after a long layoff which has seen only 1 weekend of indoor volleyball fixtures in the last 18 months. Volleyball Ireland Board Member for Competitions & Development Alfredo Aloi said, “We’re delighted that our flagship competition is now less than two months away. The extra time will help our clubs recruit players, referees and coaches and of course help our players get back to full match fitness. We can’t wait to get started. I’d like to thank the NLMC for their hard work and perseverance getting us to this stage and to the clubs for their constant engagement and feedback.”
