Volleyball Ireland are delighted to welcome three new Directors to the Board of Administration. Gavin Dredge and Beth Rae have been co-opted to fill casual vacancies left by the resignations of Alfredo Aloi and Doris Enright. Gavin & Beth will be in place until the next AGM in June, where they will stand for election.
Patrick Murphy joins the board as an Independent Director, following a robust interview and nominations process. Patrick’s appointment was ratified by member clubs at an EGM on Sunday January 28th.
Gavin Dredge: Gavin played Volleyball from a young age, first inspired into the sport by his uncle Tony McCrossan. He has a strong background in financial management and governance.
Beth Rae: Originally from Canada, Beth has played and coached Internationally both on court and on sand. A chartered accountant, she was heavily involved with the Bermudan Volleyball Federation as President for the last 14years, before relocating to Cork, where she now represents Net Force VC.
Patrick Murphy: One of Ireland’s leading sports marketeers and brand experts, Patrick is the managing director of Branding Sport. He is a keen cyclist and coaches underage Hurling.
The Board now has eight members, with 50/50 gender balance.
