The new referee development programme gets underway August 17th. VLY. encourage all levels of referees and those with an interest of exploring refereeing to sign up and join this exclusive online session with FIVB International referee Gernot Schirmbacher.
Gernot is responsible for the education and further training of referees in his home country of Austria. He has been the content creator of tests and presentations that approve national licences for referees over the last 15 years. Gernot took part in the European International Refereeing Candidate Course back in 2019 and since then has progressed to International Referee status. He also comes with a wealth of experience refereeing at multiple national cup finals in Austria over the past 5 years.
Gernot will deliver an online session exploring referee duties, examining FIVB guidelines as well as discussing what makes a good referee with our participants. We will have just enough time to finish with a volleyball rules quiz.
