On Monday 9th December 2019, the Education & Training Commission ran a Refreshers Referee Course in the VI office on Thomas Street. All Referees are required to take a Refresher course every 3 years.
Alan Gormally, Ireland’s only International Referee ran the course which was received with great interest and enthusiasm. Alan presented scenarios from FIVB case book and the correct course of actions were discussed followed by likely situations to be encountered during the season in Ireland.
There was robust discussions with good examples of case studies and actual examples of situations that Referees have experienced. This was followed by a closed book refresher exam, exam review, results and feedback.
