Ireland are sending five youthful teams to this weekend’s Small Countries Association Championships in Perth, Scotland.

Three Women’s teams will compete, lead by UCD’s Fiona Lamont and Trinity College’s Lara McNichols. Team 2 is the u20 pair of Grace Moloney (Naas) and Laura Connolly (DVC) whilst u17 double act Angela Mulcahy (Dalkey) and Aoife Burke (Santry) will be getting their first taste of SCA Beach.

In the Men’s side u20 pair Ciagan Davoren (Galway) and Liam Corcoran (Trinity) will use the experience to prepare for a trip to Latvia and the u20 Euros next week. Whilst u18 pair Stepan Potapov and Ethan Moloney-Illien (both Galway) will be prepping for the u18s in Madrid a week later.

Beach Volleyball Performance Director Melissa Cheviron said, “I’m really excited to see how our youngsters compete this weekend. It’s a big step up against some experience competitors. It will be a great grounding for some as they build their own pathway in the sport.”

Matches will be streamed on Scottish Volleyball’s YouTube channel > (51) Scottish Volleyball – YouTube
