"Let's Get Back"

This Sunday around the country we will witness an emotional and excited return to the court for our U16 national league clubs.
After 20 months of no competitive league volleyball, this weekend offers our young players the opportunity to face off against each once again and start to rebuild those ‘friendly rivalries’ we were so accustomed to seeing.
A special mention to our national league clubs who have really stepped up to rebuild their youth sections over the summer. Their hard work has meant we are coming back bigger and stronger than ever!
For the first time VLY. will host east and west leagues at this age group. There will be regional champions crowned, as well as a national finals day for all teams to be held in April 2022.

VLY. wish to welcome the newly formed clubs into our leagues this year. Cork Volleyball Academy, Portlaoise Pandas and Athenry VC. It is great to see the interest in junior clubs growing and more kids playing the game of volleyball within Ireland.
New league player and captain Sarah Nic Domhnaill from Athenry VC had this to say after the fixtures were released earlier this month.
“We are have been working towards setting up a volleyball club in Athenry for over a year now & we are really looking forward to joining the u16 volleyball league. We know it will be a step up from schools to club volleyball, but we love playing and can’t wait to get started”
