Volleyball Ireland confirms that Jonathan Barker will be stepping down from the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective March 31st, after just under five months in post. The decision is the result of a mutual and amicable agreement between Jonathan and the Board of Directors.
The Board acknowledges Jonathan’s leadership and contributions, including, but not limited to, strengthening operational cost discipline, progressing a number of digital and technological initiatives and leading a robust international recruitment process of Volleyball Ireland’s High Performance Director.
The Board extends its sincere thanks to Jonathan for his valuable contributions and his integrity during his time with the organisation and wishes him every success in the future. During his tenure, Jonathan brought significant energy and clarity of focus to the organisation.
Volleyball Ireland remains focused on delivering for its members, athletes and stakeholders, and will continue to build on recent progress as it advances its strategic priorities. For an interim period, while the Board conducts a search for a successor, Volleyball Ireland’s initiatives will be managed by our capable staff, supported closely by the Board.
