Volleyball Ireland have amended the current 2022 VLY Beach Tour calendar, adding more events to schedule. A summary of changes includes:
• An additional event in Bettystown beach on July 3rd, to replace the weather-postponed June 19th 1 & 2* tournament
• A new 2v2 Mixed Tournament in Bettystown on Saturday July 9th
• A 1* tournament in Galway on Sunday July 24th
• A new King & Queen of the Court format based on the FIVB/SportWorx series will be delivered in Dublin on July 30th
• A new 1 & 2* Tournament in Dublin on August 13th
• The Kilkee, County Clare event will now be held on 6th August (4v4 Social) and 7th August 1&2* tournament.
• The 3* season finale for the tour’s top 12 players will be held over the weekend of September 3rd & 4th along with a mixed event on Sunday 4th
• A new Nations Cup will be hosted on September 17th to celebrate the tour’s cultural diversity with teams representing the nation of their birth
The revised schedule provides more events for Beach Volleyball players with three weekends planned for the West of the country in County Galway, Clare and Kerry.
The VLY Beach Tour Management Committee have also published a new Adverse Weather Event Cancellation policy which outlines the criteria and timelines for the cancellation of Beach Tour events.
