Youth Championships 2024

What a weekend of Volleyball at the Youth Championships 2024!

Hosted over the weekend of March 9th & 10th in Gormanston Sports Complex, Meath, teams made their way from all across Ireland to battle it out for the titles.

A mix of schools and clubs took to the courts and impressed with the quality of volleyball that is continuing to develop here in Ireland among our u18 players.

The Youth Championships (U18 VLY. National Cup) is a new event designed to cater for the ever growing youth memberships. This is year one for the Girls (year two for Boys) and plans are already underway to secure 2025 dates.

After two exhilarating days of highs and lows our champions were finally crowned.

Aoife Burke, Captain of Santry Novas (Girl Champions)

“The championships this weekend were fantastic. The team had such a good experience playing against a variety of players similar in age to us which we otherwise wouldn’t get in the league. I’m so proud of the group and I hope the tournament continues next year with even more success and engagement”.

Miguel Conway, Captain Naas Pythons (Boy Champions)

“I think one of the main factors that helped win us the tournament was our coaches and supporters. Our hitting on the day was excellent and throughout many games, it was the difference between us progressing on or going home early. The tournament itself was a lot of fun and the players enjoyed the opportunity to compete”
