Some statistical highlights include:
- 16% increase in the number of licensed players
- 44% increase in the number of licensed referees
- 24% increase in licensed coaches
- 29% increase in affiliated clubs
- 40% increase in revenue generated
- 37% increase in social media followers
- Over 40,000 hours of content watched on YouTube with 1.2m impressions
Some major achievements over the year:
- Hosting of European Championships Finals
- Introduction of top4 playoffs & Premier Grand Finals
- European Championship Finals referee appointments
- Full roll out of E-scoring
- International election to Board of CEV, and Presidency of the Small Countries Association, and the Olympic Federation of Ireland
- New Referee pathway
- New Beach Volleyball courts
Volleyball Ireland President Clodagh NicCanna was buoyed as she reflected on a historic year, “The community feels connected in a way I haven’t experienced before. I can’t quite put my finger on the reason why, but I think we’re doing something special. Long may it continue. Thank you to everyone that helped us make history this year, that gave their time to the growth of our sport, and to our Volleyball family.”
