VLY Welcomes Easing of Restrictions on Indoor Sport

Volleyball Ireland Welcomes Government’s Easing of Restrictions

Volleyball Ireland today welcomes the Government’s Roadmap COVID-19: Reframing the Challenge, Continuing Our Recovery and Reconnecting.
It has been a difficult 18 months for the Sport but now at last, we can plan with clarity for the return of Volleyball in our communities.
Some key dates:

From September 20 – Indoor Volleyball training can now resume fully if all attendees are fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19 in the last six months. If all attendees are not Covid immune, then activity can resume in pods of 6 only.
From October 22 – Indoor training can resume as normal with no restrictions.
Some protective measures may remain in place.

A meeting with clubs is scheduled for Monday September 13, where the 2021/22 season calendar will be discussed. Members should prepare for a return to indoor competition from early November.

Further details will be released related to protective measures and protocol adherence once further information is received from Sport Ireland and Government in the coming days.

We look forward to seeing you back on court shortly.
