Youth Council

The Youth Council goal is to review, assess and give feedback on existing VLY. initiatives, as well as proposing new appealing activities that can help assist with the development of young players.

Purpose

  • To advocate for and behalf of all youth players and members
  • To facilitate and assist young people to voice their opinions and ideas
  • Create leadership and other opportunities for young people
  • To provide feedback and have an input into Volleyball Ireland programmes that concern young people

Benefits

As part of the Youth Council, you will be actively involved in designing and reviewing Volleyball Ireland’s projects for young people. Your commitment will leave an impact on all the volleyball community in the long term. You will be able to express concerns and suggestion, in order to improve the current state of volleyball in Ireland.

Youth council members will be supported with personal development opportunities such as free participation to E&T courses, and will receive tickets for selected VLY events free of charge.

We are looking for active club and volleyball community member aged between 18-22. The Council will be composed by 5-7 members, with a balanced membership of rural and urban clubs and gender where possible.

Applicants are enthusiastic and pro-active individuals, who work well as part of a team, respectful, passionate and with high standard of integrity. Applicants must be committed to attend 3 meetings a year (January, May, August), and to advocate equally for their own and other clubs in their area, for people of any gender and age.
